In a world where we perceive life through our phones in the metaverse, we have lost touch with ourselves in the universe.

Our feed is polluted with deceiving ads selling us a lifestyle, selling us happiness only we can create.

Our body parts have become trends and accessories

Our travel experiences have become reasons to post

Our posts, simply snippets of our reality.

My experience in the modeling, acting, fitness and pageant world left me with nothing but a starving ego, a small circle of friends, and desperately chasing recognition in the form of an agent or a trophy.

I soon realized that it wasn’t my lack of potential holding me from my success, but rather a lack of self respect and support.

Post after post, I felt nothing. I was in permanent competition with influencers and models I had never met. Comparing my grid, my stories and travel experiences to theirs, wondering, “what do they have that I don’t?”

Was my effort in maintaining the perfect figure through my eating disorders worth the photo when everyone is posed or photoshopped?

Was it worth avoiding social events for 3 years because of my lack of self control around food and alcohol after starving days on end simply to fit in a size 0?

After fluctuating in weight all year, my perfect 125lb day came when I stepped on the scale December of 2019 just to hear the news that I had been dropped from my modeling agency.

The perfect 130lb day came when I finally fit into a dress designed by my dream designer just to lose a pageant I starved and studied so hard for.

What was the point? I looked at my empty bank account, my dry texts and DMs and held my sore throat one more time as I promised to never throw up again.

It wasn’t my failure that inspired this nonprofit, it was the realization that no fame, recognition or fortune could ever replace genuine connection and priceless, spontaneous, experiences that have brought light and purpose into my life.

Mirror Mirror Foundation represents friendship and the lifting of a veil to see the reality we all truly live. As intricate beings with detailed lives that can you can never fully grasp through a photo or a reel, we deserve to know each other for who we really are aside from the body we merely exist in.
